Arsenal's Leah Williamson has posted an encouraging message as she draws closer to a return from her long-term injury.

The England captain has been absent since rupturing an ACL while playing for the Gunners against Manchester United in April. The injury cost her a place at this summer's World Cup and the start of the current season as she continues her rehabilitation.

Posting on Instagram stories Williamsonshared a positive thought with fans alongside a picture of her and Arsenal team-mate Jen Beattie. "Good days are coming," she said.

It hasn't been all doom and gloom for Williamson on her long road to recovery. In October she visited Buckingham Palace to pick up her OBE, then in November had the privilege of one of the world's longest-running comics.

Williamson can take further heart from the fact that she's currently not missing any games as the WSL takes its winter break. Arsenal return to action with an FA Cup fourth round tie against training ground neighbours Watford on January 14.
