Tottenham Hotspur have discovered how much it will cost to bring Wilfried Singo to north London in the January transfer window.
What’s the talk?
That’s according to Italian publication Tuttosport (via Sport Witness), who claim that, despite Torino attempting to tie the right-back down to a new deal at the Stadio Olimpico, the Serie A side are also aware that the right-back is ‘really liked’ by Antonio Conte and Tottenham, with the club knowing that ‘the right time to cash in on his sale is coming’.
The report goes on to state that Ivan Jurić’s outfit would be willing to part with the Ivory Coast international for a figure in the region of €12m (£10.3m) this winter – a fee Sport Witness suggest is ‘extremely affordable’ for a Premier League club such as Spurs.
Absolute steal
Considering just how impressive Singo has been for Torino in recent seasons, coupled with the fact that both Barcelona and Inter Milan are also reported to be interested in a move for the defender in January, should Fabio Paratici manage to land the 21-year-old for a mere £10.3m this winter, it would undoubtedly represent an absolute steal for Spurs.
Indeed, over his 35 Serie A appearances last time out, the £13m-rated full-back was exceptional going forwards, bagging three goals, providing four assists and creating four big chances for his teammates, as well as taking an average of 1.2 shots, making 0.7 key passes and completing 1.2 dribbles – at a success rate of 51% – per game.
The £4.2k-per-week talent also impressed in metrics more typical of his position, making an average of 1.6 tackles, 0.7 interceptions, 1.2 clearances and winning 5.6 duels – at a success rate of 58% – per match.
These returns saw the 21-year-old – who Zach Lowy labelled a “really impressive talent” and Breaking The Lines dubbed “one of Serie A’s most dangerous right wing-backs” – average a highly impressive Sofascore match rating of 6.95, ranking him as his club’s eighth-best performer in the Italian top flight last season.
As such, considering just how deadly Singo quite clearly is on the right of a back five, coupled with the fact that the defender’s reported £10.3m asking price is lower than his current market valuation, should Paratici indeed be able to pull a deal off the Ivorian in January, it would very much appear as if the 50-year-old will have landed an absolute bargain for Tottenham.
